US Springfield Model 1816 Rifle

41-1/2 in. barrel, percussion conversion, rear of lock plate marked "SPRING/FIELD/1830", center of lock plate marked with and eagle over "US", lock bolt side plate marked with "S", front of trigger guard marked with "PT",  barrel back marked with "H & P"cartouche on stock behind lock bolt side plate along with indistinguishable script within oval and underneath "HW", butt plate tang marked "US", functions at half cocked

Provenance:From the Estate of Judge David Creekmore, Knoxville, Tennessee

Condition:

wood loss at breech tang, corrosion, wear and pitting, crack to stock at front barrel band, areas of loss to stock, corrosion, pitting to barrel, other scattered scratches, abrasions, and wear, partial stock possibly replaced
