40 in. octagonal to round barrel, plate marked with eagle/ US/New York/1862, two cartouches on left face, one sling swivel iron ramrod, hammer and trigger frozen, missing rear sight, corrosion, pitting, rust to metal parts, probably a replaced breech tang, darkening of wood at butt plate, possible wood repair at top of plate, wood surface with scratches and dings, ramrod bent; 39-3/4 in. octagonal to round barrel, plate marked "1862" behind hammer, eagle/U.S. Springfield" under hammer, barrel bands marked with "U", one sling swivel, over cleaned ramrod, damaged rear sight, barrel with flash wear and rust at breech, park patina to metal, dings and dents to metal, wood surface with chips, dents, scratches and marring, crack to wood behind lock plate
