American, both brass with mellow patina, embossed with peace and friendship decoration on either side, one marked "N.P.Aimes/1832" at top, "WS" as neck; one marked "N.P.Aimes/1846" at top, 7-1/4 in.

first probably with earlier top (this flask design did not appear until 1837), seams with later resoldering, dents, abrasions, corrosion, missing internal spring; second in generally good condition with light abrasions and dents, working condition
