Monogram Pictures/Belita Movie Poster

(20th century)

Lady Let's Dance, 1944, starring Belita as herself, James Ellison, Frick and Frack, and Walter Catlett, offset lithograph, 42 x 28-1/2 in. (sight); metal frame, 42-1/4 x 29 in.

Note:

Although Belita Jepsen-Turner was in the 1936 Olympic Winter Games, she did not care much about competition. She was also a great dancer, movie star, actress, and performer. [Lady Let's Dance] is a 1944 black-and-white ice skating musical. It stars ice skater Belita as herself, James Ellison, Frick and Frack, and Walter Catlett. Belita's elegance, Olympic ability and training as a ballet dancer were extraordinary. She danced with Anton Dolin, Skated in the Ice Capades, acted in movies with Charles Laughton, Preston Foster, Barry Sullivan and others. Her level of importance has been rare indeed.
