Chinese Copper-Red Glazed Vase

Qing dynasty, Daoguang period (1821-1850), elegant [yuhuchunping] form vase on a slightly splayed foot with six character seal mark for Daoguang at base in underglaze blue, 11-3/4 in.

Qianlong-marked vases of this type are included in the Illustrated Catalogue of Tokyo National Museum, Chinese Ceramics II, Tokyo, 1990, no. 697; and from the Hellebronth and Bernheimer collections, exhibited in Chinesische Keramik, Museum fur Ostasuatische Kunst, Cologne, 1988, and illustrated in the catalogue, no. 110.
