21-3/8 in. round barrel, serial number 58698 marked on breech tang, "C. SHARP'S PAT./OCT. 5TH 1862" on plate behind hammer and "R.S. Lawrence PAT/APRIL 12TH 1859" on plate, with a Lawrence folding elevator rear sight, saddle ring, breech loader, some components have single or double letter sub-inspection marks, has iron furniture and features a blade front and folding rear sight, top of barrel lightly stamped "NEW MODEL 1859", firing mechanism appears to work
