34-1/4 in. barrel, lock plate marked "U.S./WHITNEY-VILLE/1863", eagle on lock plate, bottom barrel band marked "U", butt plate tang marked "US", wood stock carved "C.R.", "9491" marked on barrel tang.

Condition:
missing a sling swivel, initials carved into butt, crack in wood at rear of lock plate, pitting and corrosion to barrel and trigger guard, losses dents, scratches, discoloration to wood, possibly a later sight, metal ramrod very loose
